BSG Scotland Conference 14 June 2010

The one day conference on 14 June 2010 will be held in the Iris Murdoch building, University of Stirling. The event is organised jointly by BSG Scotland and the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC), University of Stirling. The overall theme Involving Older People: Meanings and Methods will be approached from a range of perspectives. There will be six keynote speakers as well as an address by Irene Oldfather MSP, Convenor of the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Alzheimer’s. Keynote speakers include: Professor Jill Manthorpe, King’s College London; members of the Scottish Dementia Working Group; Briege McLean, Live and Learn NI, National Museums of Northern Ireland; Dr Emma Reynish, Consultant Physician, Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy; Dr Harriet Mowat, Mowat Research Ltd; Professor Roger Clough, Lancaster University. The two-hour lunch time will include poster sessions at which authors will speak about their posters. Tours of the dementia friendly Iris Murdoch Building will be available for participants. Thus throughout the day participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the involvement of older people and contribute to wide ranging discussions on ageing and later life.
