A scheme to support one day events
Recent consultations with BSG members have identified a desire for more local events that focus on ageing and research. In order to support this, the BSG is launching a funding scheme to help members who want to put on events in their area. The scheme aims to provide an advance of up to £500 to help with set up costs. Events should aim to break even so that the advance can be repaid. However, it can be used to underwrite any loss incurred if necessary.
The following conditions apply
- Applications to the scheme should be made by completing and returning the the form below and a full budget to Rachel Hazelwood using the contact details below.
- Applications must be submitted by a BSG member and supported by a second member
- The aims of the event should be broadly in line with those of the BSG. i.e.
o promoting high quality research;
o facilitating links between research, policy and practice;
o contributing to debates about ageing.
- Attendance should be offered to BSG members, subject to capacity limitations.
- Members who successfully apply for funding are required to provide the BSG Executive with a report back to the exec in writing within one month after the event, following an agreed format.
