The British Society of Gerontology's Emerging Researchers in Ageing is pleased to announce a pre-conference workshop and seminar to be held on July 4th 2011 at the University of Plymouth.

The workshop will be facilitated by Professor Norah Keating on ‘Career Pathways in and through academia’. This workshop offers the unique opportunity to learn from individual experiences of entering and surviving academic life from past-Presidents of the BSG and other academics in both early, mid and established career stages.

The seminar will be delivered by Professor Frank Whittington and will draw upon his experience on the editorial board and as book review editor of the Gerontologist. Professor Whittington will offer his extensive experience concerning how to write for publication and what editors and book reviewers look for in publications.

This event is FREE but places are limited

The British Society of Gerontology's Emerging Researchers in Ageing is pleased to offer early career researchers and those new to the field of ageing an exciting opportunity to meet with a range of seasoned and eminent academics in a ‘speed-dating’ type event. Participants will be allowed a brief period of time talking with panel members either individually or in pairs (depending on numbers of participants) before being required to move on to the next panel member.
