Project leads next decade of ageing research across Europe An ambitious project led by researchers at the University of Sheffield is set to tackle the grand challenge of Europe's ageing population over the next 10 years. The FUTURAGE Road Map, created by a team led by Alan Walker, Professor of Social Policy and Social Gerontology in the Department of Sociological Studies, will provide the European research agenda for ageing over the next 10 years. read more ...

After much discussion, and in this our 40th anniversary year, the BSG Outstanding Achievement Award 2011 was presented at this year’s Annual Conference in Plymouth to three giants in the field of social gerontology: Professors Sara Arber, Chris Phillipson and Tony Warnes.
