Through national updates, and practical case studies the conference will focus on improving care of adults in the last days of life. Sessions will focus on putting personal experience first, monitoring adherence against the national NICE standards in practice, alignment of care with the preferences and needs of the dying person and those important to them, predicting and recognising last days of life and managing uncertainty, developing individual care plans and goals, symptom control and hydration and effective prescribing including anticipatory prescribing at the end of life. The conference will also look forward to the New NICE Guideline on End of life care for adults: service delivery which is in consultation and due for publication in October 2019.
