Research Assistant: Journeying through Dementia Trial
The School of Dementia Studies at the University of Bradford seeks to employ a research assistant to work on a randomised controlled trial called Journeying through Dementia. The study is examining the effectiveness of an intervention designed to support individuals to self-manage and retain wellbeing following a recent dementia diagnosis.
Location: Centre for Applied Dementia Studies
Salary: £29,799 to £32,548 per annum pro rata
Deadline: 22 March 2018
The successful applicant will have experience of health and/ or social care research and will have also worked in some capacity with people with dementia. They will have a well-developed understanding of the needs of people with early stage dementia and knowledge of the strategies that researchers should be aware of to ensure their full and meaningful involvement. They will be willing to work collaboratively with other research partners in this multi-site study and take lead responsibility for patient and public involvement and the qualitative strand of enquiry.

The post holder will have the benefit of working within the award winning School for Dementia studies, University of Bradford where the post is located. They will be able to learn from those involved in 'State of the Art' psycho-soclal dementia research/ training and education. They will also work alongside Sheffield Clinical Trials unit, with opportunities to gain significant methodological experience.

The post is a part time (80% WTE) fixed term contract with a current end date of 31st May 2019. Some travel between sites located in the north of England and midlands is required.
