We believe in the power of research to save lives, prevent stroke and ensure people make the best recovery they can.

The Stroke Association’s research strategy aims to increase the UK funding base and capacity for stroke research across the full stroke care pathway. These Fellowship and Lectureship programmes are aimed at developing the stroke research leaders of the future. 

The grants will be awarded in March 2019.

• Postgraduate Fellowship Award: 
  • £35,000 a year for two years, with a discretionary extension of £35,000 for the third year.
  • Deadline for applications: 5PM on 1 November 2018

  • A maximum of £175,000 over three years.

• The Stroke Association UK Lectureship Awards and Joint Stroke Association & Health and Care Research Wales Lectureship Award are still open for application:
