This is open to older adults and those that work with them or conduct research with them. Previous competitions have been hugely successful, last year’s winning entries have toured Wales via the National Museums, and are being exhibited in Scotland in the near future.
The competition has also generated interest internationally.
This year’s competition will lead to a devolved nations event later in the year around creative ageing as part of my BSG portfolio.
How to Enter
We invite you to submit artworks such as photos, drawings, poetry, paintings, sculptures etc., along with a short description, your name, address, email address and phone number.
Closing date for entries is 18th August 2023.

The competition closes at midnight on 28 August 2023.
All entries will be judged by a panel of experts and the winning artwork will be photographed. Entries may also be used in future CADR publicity and promotional materials as well as the winning entry being on the front cover of the 2024 CADR Calendar.
All entrants will receive a copy of the 2024 CADR Calendar.
There may also be an event where the top 12 will be exhibited. This is still to be confirmed.
All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of the copyright in all arts entered and must have gained permission of any people featured in their entries. Entrants must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
Entrants will retain copyright in the arts that they submit. By entering the competition all entrants grant CADR the right to use the images on various publicity materials, on the CADR website and social media sites. No fees will be payable for any of the above uses.
By entering you will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and CADR reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if CADR has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules.
