Contribute to the BSG Transport and Mobility Special Interest Group symposium in Liverpool Conference
The British Society for Gerontology Transport and Mobility Special Interest Group invite abstracts of oral presentations to contribute to their symposium at the BSG Annual Conference in Liverpool 10-12 July. Please send your abstract to Ben Spencer (bspencer@brookes.ac.uk) by midday Monday 14th January 2019 in the following format. We will confirm if you are selected by Friday 18th Jan.

Following the theme of the conference (www.britishgerontology.org/events-and-courses/bsg-annual-conference) the symposium title is:

'Resilience and Living Well in Local Communities - the role of transport and mobility'.

We will bring together a range of research projects (recent and current, international in scope) which are investigating transport and mobility solutions focused at the neighbourhood level. We are interested in presentations which explore older people's opportunities to maximise their out-of-home mobility, and as a consequence address wellbeing and equality issues. This might include the use of new technology, new delivery models, better ways of understanding needs, new ways of identifying benefits, new ways of understanding and/or conceptualizing resilience in relation to older people's mobility or other studies you think are appropriate to this theme.

Please send your abstract to Ben Spencer (bspencer@brookes.ac.uk) by midday Monday 7th January 2019 in the following format. We will confirm if you are selected by Monday 14th Jan.

·  Abstract title word limit: 30 words

·  Abstract word limit: 250 words

·  Maximum number of references: 5

·  Headings: Unstructured abstract with no tables, diagrams or pictures

We look forward to hearing from you. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss any aspect of your proposal.

Ben Spencer and the Transport SIG.
