Farewell to Mim Bernard
Mim Bernard - Professor of Social Gerontology - is leaving Keele University and we'd love you to join with us in wishing her well in the next stage...

Mim is leaving Keele University at the end of December after 30 years on the staff, to say nothing of her time as an undergrad and postgrad student here in the 1970s/early 80s.

To mark Mim’s time at Keele, we are compiling a;

Memories and Messages Book.

If you have messages, memories, stories or photographs you would like to contribute, please send them to: Rebecca Leach r.leach@keele.ac.uk by 30th November 2018 at the very latest.

Instead of a collection, Mim would welcome donations to support the work of the Ages and Stages Theatre Company.

The Company – and the annual Live Age Festival – are legacies of the collaborative and interdisciplinary ‘Ages and Stages’ research projects led by Mim since 2009. The Company is now a free-standing community group, hosted at the New Vic Theatre. Its members develop, perform and tour pieces of varying scales and kinds; they work with other groups including the Vic’s Youth Theatre and a recent initiative with Bentilee residents; act as volunteer ambassadors supporting commissioned artists and participants on the current ‘Meet Me at Live Age’ project; and contribute to option modules taken by medical students, and to conferences and presentations. Company members wholeheartedly embrace the potential for continuing creativity in later life.

To donate please go to https://epay.keele.ac.uk/donations/ and choose 'Ages & Stages' in the drop-down menu.

With all good wishes,

Rebecca Leach,
Head of School, Social Science & Public Policy
