Conference theme: 'Culture, Diversity and Ageing'
Simon Evans
On behalf of the conference organising committee, University of the West of England

We have been busy finalising the details of the conference programme and we think you will really enjoy what we have in store. As well as stimulating plenary sessions from Alan Walker, Gloria Gutman and Merril Silverstein, we also have a great social programme, including a multi-cultural food feast and a World Music evening.

Please send us your abstracts for oral presentations by 1st May under the following themes:

  • Cultures of ageing
  • Research methods and theory
  • Health and wellbeing for older people
  • Ageing and technology
  • Long-term health and social care
  • Diversity and discrimination

Do you have a research project you would like to tell delegates about? If so, why not submit your ideas for a conference poster? If you are a student your poster could win The Stirling Plate (looks good on your CV) and a cash prize!

Full details of the conference, including information about abstract and poster submissions and registration, are available at: www.bsg2009.org.uk We look forward to seeing you all at Bristol in September.
