BSG Scotland report

The next BSG Scotland members’ event will be held on 6 November at the Hamilton Campus of the University of the West of Scotland from 12.30 to 16.00. The event will start with a buffet lunch and time to network and socialise, learn about others’ research and interests, and look at posters and other materials. Then research presentations will be given by:

  • Maria Wolters, University of Edinburgh on Computer-generated speech – how suitable is it to older users?;
  • Barbara Sharp, University of the West of Scotland on her PhD research Subjective experiences of stress in dementia;
  • Dr Jackie Gulland, University of Stirling on Moaning or fighting? Understanding complaints about social care services.

We are also planning our next one day conference on 14 June 2010, to be held in the Iris Murdoch building, University of Stirling. This event will be organised jointly by BSG Scotland and the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC), University of Stirling. Details will be circulated and posted on the BSG website as soon as possible.
