The British Society of Gerontology (BSG), in partnership with the
University of Plymouth, is pleased to announce the call for abstracts
for the 40th Annual Conference—
‘Understanding and Promoting the Value of Older Age’
being held in Plymouth from the 5th through 7th of July. The 2011
Annual Conference also marks BSG’s 40th anniversary, and conference
events will reflect this important occasion. We are excited to confirm
our keynote speakers:
- Andrew Achenbaum, Professor of History and Social Work, University of Houston, USA
- Christina Victor, Professor of Public Health, Brunel University, UK
- Norah Keating, Professor of Human Ecology, University of Alberta, Canada
We invite abstracts for papers, posters and symposia that focus on ‘Understanding and Promoting the Value of Older Age’ in relation to the following conference sub-themes:
- Social and community engagement
- Innovations in health and social care
- Ageing bodies/ageing minds
- Intergenerational relations
- Well-being and quality of life
- Arts and humanities perspectives on older age
- Narrative and other research approaches
- The role of technologies
- Open stream
Abstract deadline: Friday 28th January 2011
