Update on the BSG 40th Annual Conference 2011
Catherine Hennessy
Preparations for the 40th BSG annual conference to be held in Plymouth 5th-7th July are in full swing. We had an excellent response to our call for abstracts (over 200 submissions) under this year’s conference theme ‘Understanding and Promoting the Value of Older Age’ and are excited about the diverse programme offering under themes ranging from ‘Arts and Humanities Perspectives on Older Age’ to ‘The Role of Technologies’. Notification of acceptance of abstracts will be completed by 31st March and the full conference programme will be available on the website at www.bsg2011plymouth.org.uk by 29th April. We are planning an exciting programme of events to celebrate the occasion of the 40th anniversary of BSG, including a conference dinner in the historic dining hall of the HMS Drake Royal Naval Yard. We encourage everyone to register early and book your place for the commemorative dinner. We look forward to seeing you in Plymouth!
