‘Ageist “Triage” Is a Crime Against Humanity’
This post comes from the European Network of Ageing Studies Executive Board whose members are concerned about the impact COVID-19 is having on older people. As a community of people committed to research against ageism, the board are extremely concerned about the ageism found in some of the ethical/medical/policy discussions and media reports about the corona crisis in a global context. Yet, we are also happy to see that some governments and institutions are very careful not to use ageist discourses. For instance, strong voices have emerged opposing the ageist comments made and actions taken by some. Nonetheless, we believe that our work is more important than ever; therefore, we need to keep unveiling and challenging ageism!
