Dementia Care Mapping (DCM) for Realising Practice Change – Online Course
The Centre for Applied Dementia Studies is getting ready to run the next online Dementia Care Mapping for Realising Person Centred Care course, starting on the 18th January 2021. This course is delivered over several weeks using a combination of Zoom and Canvas and supports participants to learn how to use observation to explore and improve the quality of care in health and social care settings.

The Centre for Applied Dementia Studies is now offering the award winning DCMTM training online using a range of different methods to support your learning including live tutorials on Zoom and self-directed learning using videos, quizzes, reading and discussion forums on the virtual learning environment, Canvas.

At the end of the course you will be able to:

Understand person centred dementia care, and its application in practice Describe the psychological needs of people with dementia, and ways to meet them

Use DCMTM to assess and make recommendations for the realisation of person centred dementia care

Brief colleagues on the use of DCMTM

End date: 22nd March 2021
Includes: Online and hard copy training materials, access to our University online learning platform including our online library services; support from our expert DCMTM trainers for the duration of the course; and a certificate of completion.
