Following the theme of the conference the symposium title is 'Resilience and Living Well in Local Communities - research methods in relation to ageing, reproduction and sexualities '.
In keeping with the conference theme of 'Resilience and Living Well in Local Communities', it can be argued that researchers need to address all areas of gerontology, including areas usually considered 'taboo' or not relevant to later life such as reproduction and sexuality.
This symposium will bring together a range of research projects (recent and current in scope), which investigate sexuality, intimacy and reproduction in later life. We are interested in presentations that share, discuss and critique a range of appropriate research methods that have been used in researching this sensitive area. This might include the use of novel ways of understanding needs, new ways of identifying benefits, new ways of understanding and/or conceptualising resilience in relation to older people's sexuality or other studies you think are appropriate to this theme.
Criteria for presentation abstracts are as follows:
· Abstract title word limit: 30 words
· Abstract word limit: 250 words
· Maximum number of references: 5
· Headings: Unstructured abstract with no tables, diagrams or pictures
Please submit your abstract via the BSG website by the 24th January:
