Prospective convenors are invited to submit a proposal, of no more than 250 words detailing the symposium title and symposium abstract to be held during the conference. This usually comprises 3-4 oral presentations, agreed between the convenor and the presenters, and dedicated to a particular theme, topic or research project.
To submit your symposium you will need the following information to hand:
- Symposium title
- Symposium abstract (overview of the symposium)
- Information about the Chair of the symposium (and Discussant if relevant)
- Email addresses of those you wish to invite to present at your symposium
Please note that the Scientific Committee is happy to consider alternative formats for symposia. Please detail your intentions in the description of your symposium.
The convenor will be responsible for chairing/acting as a discussant at the symposium or nominating a chair (and discussant where applicable) for the symposium. The convenor will also be responsible for communicating with the symposium participants in regard to the outcomes of review.
Convenors should suggest up to three conference sub-themes which are appropriate to host the symposium/special session, although submissions falling outside the conference sub-themes are also welcome and will be considered.
Once the symposium has been submitted, the presenters invited will receive an email with instructions on how to submit their abstract and link it to your symposium. Please advise presenters to check their 'Junk' or Clutter folders if they do not receive an email invitation. All presenters must submit their abstracts and link them to the symposium before the deadline for submissions.
If you have any scheduling constraints, for example, sessions that you will not be available, do include this in the submission form or contact the team on the email below. We will seek to accommodate all scheduling requirements received before submission, but please be aware that our ability to change session times will be limited after abstract notifications go out.
You can submit a symposium via the ‘Submit Your Symposium' button on this page.
