Welcome to BSG Scotland

We have an organising group which meets regularly to plan events and activities. We aim to host networking seminars once or twice per year at locations across Scotland with relevant topics for academia, government, and third sector. Please see BSG events for details of forthcoming events.

BSG Scotland background

BSG Scotland is a local group within the British Society of Gerontology. BSG Scotland was initiated by Professor Mary Gilhooly, former President of BSG, together with the Scottish Research Forum on Ageing, Lesley Hart, Tilda Gaskell and others. Professor Debbie Tolson, Glasgow Caledonian University, was the first Chair of BSG Scotland. BSG Scotland was launched on 25 June 2002 at a conference held at Glasgow Caledonian University. Our current organising group is led by Dr Lisa Davison, with Prof. Louise McCabe, as Treasurer.
