2: Becoming a Gerontologist

This film focusses on how people first came into ageing (research) and what it is that has motivated them and their work throughout their careers. Participants talk about the impact of early experiences; influential individuals and mentors; their postgraduate studies; and their academic, practice and voluntary sector involvements. Concerns with social justice, wanting to make a difference, and intellectual curiosity, are key motivating factors.
